Born and raised in Middle Georgia, Clark graduated from Georgia Tech in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and after a four year internship and examination, became a Registered professional Engineer in the State of Georgia.

He worked in aviation throughout a 40 year career as an aircraft propulsion systems engineer, designing and testing engine/installations for a variety of aircraft including the Lockheed C-130, C-5, and a recent version of the Navy P-3.

After retiring from Lockheed Martin, Clark continued as private aircraft propulsion systems consultant and as a licensed Designated Engineering Representative for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Clark has owned property in Glynn County since 1986, and lived in East Cobb County until 2002 when he became a permanent resident of St. Simons Island. He has been married 47 years, has two children and five grandchildren.
